April 2021 game thread

i have not seen this mentioned anywhere and I think it might be the single biggest impactful thing for the future of this franchise other than jazz breaking out..... Sixto was optioned to the minors before being put on the injured list to start the year. because of this he is not accruing service time. if he stays on that list for a certain period of time this year, we get an extra year of sixto 6 years from now when he will be in his prime. That is enormous and its weird no one else covering the team has mentioned it to this point. Im just not sure when that date is this year that the extra year is officially gained, but at this point its unlikely we see him before July and it might even be august given that when he finally gets healthy he's still gonna need another 3-4 weeks of minor league rehab games.

It'd also be nice to have him because we can compete in this division right now.

I wish we knew what was going on with Edward Cabrera. Beginning of the month I read that he was back on the mound, but I haven't heard anything since.

i already placed one bet on us to win the division $40 to win $2000. I might double down for more soon. I think we have a legit shot to win this division because I don't think any of the other teams are all that good or are so injured as to be a shell of themselves. I think we have a legit chance if Starling is as close to returning as it seems.

of course, but if we are going to have to miss him, it doesn't hurt that we might get an extra prime year of one of the best pitching prospects in baseball 6 years from now as a smaller market team who will have trouble re-signing all the core guys in 5 years.

It is a silver lining. yes. I just hope they aren't saying their being careful, but service time is the ultimate objective.

about time cooper is starting to heat up along with Anderson. I think we might be close to going on a run now that we are starting to get healthy and the schedule is lightening up in the next few weeks. they have done a phenomenal job of staying in the race while injured, now we have to go on a run when we're healthy and go from 2-5 games under consistently to 2-5 games over before july.

i use bet online but their mlb futures arent up this morning. they usually are so ill have to wait till later this weekend when they come back up. the value is too good not to put something down. we're on the level of those other teams in our division. I never understood why everyone expected us to be in last place and like 20 games under this year.

Bovada has us at +2800 right now.

I got them at +5000 back on may 4th but now I've seen them in the +2800-+3300 range on the different sites. still great value for a team that has yet to be healthy and play their best baseball this year in a division filled with overrated teams.

agreed. 2 out of 3 against a super banged up mets team is a must. stinks that the way the matchups fell we don't have sandy or rogers pitching in this series but still need to get at least 2 minimum
