  • yimi needs to be our closer this year. he doesn't fuck around and doesn't get in trouble by walking guys, he has a 7 year sample size of not walking guys at all and that's my biggest thing with bullpen guys. you cant give up cheap bases and he is perfect given what we have.

    He is our closer.

    • rogers vs anderson in about 12 hours. if we can sweep 4 in a row after the slow start that would be enormous. without sixto and Elieser is even more impressive. Great fuckign rebound from an incredibly impressive mix of young guys and vets. This is a wild card contender this year I really believe if sixto comes back soon and the rotation stays healthy

        • if rogers can get us a W tomorrow, our next 9 games come against a terrible combo of the giants and orioles. We have a legit chance to not only get back from the awful 1-6 start but also get back over .500 against bottom feeders. if bass performs to our expectations were 7-4 with 9 games against bad teams. really encouraging

absolutely. Nor do we win the game last night down 3-0 against this particular team. we are not even close to the most talented team in the league, but god damn we are incredibly confident and resilient and we don't really seem to give a shit that we arent supposed to be relevant. we seem to know we will win based on a collection of quality players as opposed to any particular player and they all seem to rally around that fact.

The Giants aren't terrible. They're a lot like us actually.

Bass blown saves aside, it hasn't been a bad start, and that's corrected already since he's no longer closing.

Jorge Alfaro stinks, we definitely need a new catcher.

              • Amazing win tonight. Outstanding win streak. So fun to watch.

But as great as we play good teams, the Miami Marlins historically love playing down to their competition.

Don’t pencil in 7 or 8 wins in the next 9 games because we’re playing the Giants and Orioles.

Yeah, whoever is running it is bad. they show 1 strike when there's 2, no runners on when there's a guy at second, etc.

You keep acting like we're going to roll over the Giants and Orioles. The Marlins have a tendency to not do the best against the bad teams.

Also, these bad teams are a combined 13-10 this year.

This is the kind of team Cynical Maddawg has been looking for, for over 20 years now. Underdogs that the national media (including MLB's own website) still shits on daily.

the giants are nothing like us. They have absolutely 0 young talent. They are in need of a major rebuild and have a mediocre rotation and a lineup full of declining veterans. They are better than the orioles but we should be significantly better than both of those teams.

Organizational talent, and future outlook are heavily in our favor, I would agree, but I don't think there's that big of a gap when it comes to current ability of the major league roster at this very moment. Last 71 games we have basically the same record.

we shall see, my only point in that post last night was to say we have an easier schedule the next week or 2 against teams that wont make the playoffs so it would be huge to take advantage of it.
