Went to bed after diamondbacks blew it open last night so I didn’t catch this until now. What the fuck is Luis madero doing in the majors? I’m guessing the idea was that he was only gonna be up for a few days and they didn’t want to have to put someone new on the 40 man to just dfa them a few days later but there was really no one better we could have called on? And if the idea was to just fill a roster spot for a few days why are they going to him twice already?

Why not just open with Detwiler for a couple of innings and go from there? I don’t get it lol, it’s worked the last couple of times they tried it. The last time, it worked to perfection and the time before that Detwiler did his job before Campbell fucked it up.

i just don't care about the order personally. they are gonna need someone to eat up at least 3 innings regardless. might as well be poteet but no matter the order we're fucked until sixto and elieser get back unless they trade for someone ASAP. you can rearrange it however you'd like, it's just like rearranging deck chairs on the titanic given our options right now. we just need to try as hard as possible to stay around .500 till sixto and marte get back. we simply have no ability to string together wins when 2/5 of our rotation is a bullpen game and our lineup is relatively inconsistent even when healthy, let alone when missing 3 starters including your 2 best hitters, and then your other 2 best power bats have been abysmal all year.

he is better than those guys. not saying he is a long term starter for us but if they use him correctly by allowing him 2 times through the order and that's it, he is a useful piece whose competence would be a big improvement over what we have been watching out of the last 2 spots in the rotation

jesus aguilar is right up there on the list of guys I have been most wrong on. I didn't think he would make it to the trade deadline in a normal year last year and now he's our best hitter and on pace for a top 5-10 MVP season in the NL

and if aguilar doesnt have a disastrous 2nd half the marlins will have an interesting decision at 1b next year between him in his last year of arbitration before free agency and between lewin diaz. Could argue you cant move off aguilar but also could argue you have a cheap young prospect who, if they think he is ready, can fill in well for cheaper and allow you to trade Aguilar as a 1b/DH combo that has value and might be able to at least get us an upgrade at C potentially without sacrificing any long term prospects

it's a remarkably low standard but leon is significantly better than wallach. there is no reason why wallach doesn't go down when alfaro comes back this weekend.

I just hope this is in for him. Dont push it. 1 run in 4 innings is just what we needed. we have the best bullpen ERA in the league. don't try to get greedy and unnecessarily steal another inning out of him.
