Comparing Volstad's 7 pretty good starts to what Javy has done over the last 4 months is classic Mibs. He did this last season; excuse everyone in the fucking world for not being tricked by it again.

We are 5th to last in NL starting pitcher ERA. Javy is retiring. Volstad is going to start making money. JJ is incapable of staying healthy.

If you can't see why we need to focus on pitching in the offseason, well then you are who we thought you are.

From August 30th until September 25th, the rotation ranked 3rd in the major in ERA. God forbid anyone think that guys can actually improve unless they're over 30 and have been pitching in the majors for a decade.

I would just prefer to get one top of the rotation starter and then address the offense that has scored less than 2 runs 35 times this year.
