Bo Porter is for me. The Hippest 3rd Base Coach in the League. Who cares if he sucks at his job? Just look at Tim McCarver...

Yeah, this is 99% true though. Anytime you get a stop sign up and the throw ends up being off line or you send the guy and he gets gunned down, YOU ARE TARDED. Need a 100% waive him around and score stat or ya suck. Porter, for the most part, is pretty aggressive, I like that.

I agree. If I were to have a third base coach on an offensively challenged club, or really any NL team, Bo Porter's the kind of guy I want.

I'd rather a guy get cut down at the plate than stand on third while tweedle dumb strikes out on 4 pitches.

Yeah, I mostly agree with this, but I can see the FO thinking that Miller's mechanical overhaul (done under the oversight of Wiley - didn't Miller stick around in the offeason to work with him? correct me if I'm wrong) didn't work, Volstad severely regressed, Ricky regressed, and the back end of the bullpen (Lindstrom, Nunez) was a weak point (with Lindstrom not showing any progress), and that someone has to take the fall for that. So they dump Wiley.

Probably not the smartest thing to do, because they're placing the blame in the wrong place considering how they nickel and dime the bullpen every year and rush young pitchers to the majors. But it's somewhat defensible. Or, at least more defensible than firing Fredi, and they seem to feel like they had to make a move somewhere.

Volstad and Ricky "regressed" like we "overachieved" this year.

Perry Hill rejected a job with the Pirates for next season so I wouldn't doubt that's one of the reasons why Fox is out, hopefully we retain Hill an bring him back to do his wonders again

Retain means to keep something. Perry Hill is not on the club's payroll so he cannot be retained.

I think he should be banned

Rumors going around saying Wiley may be asked to stay on in some kind of front office/scouting role... if he's interested
