Pretty clear to me that the story with Mejia and Holloway getting the call is they're evaluating these guys for next year. My guess is their spots on the 40-man are on the line.
I'm not afraid to stick my neck out. I like Mejia better than Sixto, Garrett and Rogers and right up there with Cabrera. Don't even think of lumping Mejia with Holloway/Guzman whatever. He doesn't walk hitters.

You would take Baseball America's word over mine? That hurts.

Cabrera’s injured, and apparently they’re not willing to risk it with Sixto because he came to camp out of shape or something.

I mean I hope you’re right to be honest, but wow.

Can somebody link me to somebody saying that Sixto was out of shape for Spring Training 2.0? I know that was definitely the talk back in March, but all I can find recently is this tweet from Frisaro pretty much saying the opposite of he's out of shape.

            • Mejia strikes out the side in the 1st. Alonso almost took him deep and he threw a ton of pitches but still impressive.

              • Cisco is our MVP so far. Alfaro can DH and split time with him when he comes back.

                • Great stuff from Mejia. I've never seen him pitch before but he seems more like a future closer than starter.

I’d like to see him pitch some more before making that decision, but his stuff is certainly good enough to get big league hitters out. Tough situation with the start on short notice and in the rain but he showed a lot of potential.

Oh ya, definitely just a snap judgment on my part. Something about his delivery and style that just feels like a closer. Regardless I'm super impressed with what I saw.

                      • Alvarez is a nice story, but he looks fairly overmatched at the plate thus far.

                        • I would of liked to have seen Lewin Diaz play if we were gonna DH Aguilar so much.

                          • Bleier screwed by the umpire, and then, holy shit, what a play by Alvarez.

                            Damn bases loaded, 1 out.

                            • Alvarez just made one of the best jumping catches I've seen.

                              Shit.
