Sure hope you're right and sure think you're over-estimating based on what I saw. Not in Eddy's league with the golve either.

Your entire love of Eddy Alvarez is based on his stats in AAA last year. And rightfully so he had a good year in AAA last year. You want to know who had a better year at the same place last year? Isan Diaz. Their OPS' were pretty much identical, and Diaz had way more ABs at AAA last year. So you were fine with Diaz until you saw him at the big league level and he struggled, but Diaz is a young player who has a track record of slow starts at every single level. He has a problem with Ks, but nowhere near the problem that Harrison has showed over his minor league career. His last 3 months at AAA he recorded an OPS over 1.000 all 3 months, last 2 months at AA OPS's above .900, every level he eventually figured it out.

      • 4 days until 18 guys can come off the IL. A few can come off already but wont until Marlins back in Miami

Remember 2 straight negative tests and they can return

Gonna be an interesting week as guys come off IL/15-18 guys are gonna get DFA which means some wont be in system anymore!!!

        Marlins have "added"

        Preston Guilmet
        Wilkin Castillo
        Nick Fortes
        Christian Lopes
        Cody Poteet
        Gosuke Katoh
        Julian Leon

to 60 man pool as well so u will also see lots of guys ineligble for the rest of this season(I think)

        • This was a very frustrating series. We could've won all three games since we had so many opportunities.

I still can't see why everyone was in love with Monte. The K rate is ridiculous, his throws home were awful... his defense was okay. I believe Sierra would be better than him right now.

Castano didn't pitch that bad, he had a couple of bad calls that lead to both HR. Same thing with Pablo, bad defense, bad calls etc.

Villar was atrocious this week. Everyone was dumping on Aguilar and he's probably our best player along with Anderson.

          • giancarlo stanton to the DL yet again. now out 3-4 weeks. moving him regardless of the return was the best thing we could have done. the back end of that contract is going to be a complete disaster

            • I'm gonna make Lee's post before he does. Eddy Alvarez goes 3-4 on Sunday and he sits the next game?

I liked Eddy for 4-4. Alonso didn't even have time to turn his glove around on that shot ... it hit the back of his glove. No error there. Eddy also hits about equally well from both sides of the plate, making him a good fit vs Ryu. Let's face it, Alvarez does everything well. He's a joy to watch.

Monte in the lineup! The brass keeps saying they're playing to win. They can't have it both ways. And Brinson to boot. Has anyone ever had a start as weak as Monte's? His two hits barely trickled off his bat. His whiffs come without even a foul ball or two.

Alonso should've fielded that ball. Also he was 0-9 coming into that game. He should be starting, though at least today.

                  • Sad that it looks like Monte Harrison wasn't ready for prime time. He's at the age that you gotta see what you have in him.

                      • Do we think Monte will ever not strikeout again?

                        Elieser's been very impressive.

                        • Every time Brinson hits a piss rod it’s right at someone. Never seen anything like it.
