Marlins and Brian Anderson have had initial discussions on a long-term extension. Sources say the Marlins initial club framework was around the 5 year 30 million dollar range. Mostly pre pandemic discussion. Talks likely to resume this Winter.

I thought he looked excellent back in March and had really intriguing AAA numbers last year.

With Neidert making the team, maybe they let Elieser go 3-4 innings in his first start and then follow up with Neidert in a long-relief role, and have those two work it out. That's what I'm hoping for at least.
Don't understand Cooper, Berti, Sierra combo for the bench. Cooper, Berti, Alvarez give better coverage.
I would have preferred Neidert as a starter to Hernandez.

This is pretty much the offer that the owners gave the players a week or 2 earlier except players can file grievences now and still has draft comp attached.
Thats the funniest part of all of this-the greedy ass players could have had and gotten paid for a 82 game season and FA next year could have gotten paid but instead they get paid for 60 games and can file grievences
For all the crap we give owners these guys were dying to play the season and just get it over with since the draft while players and Tony Clark were busy playing games trying to squeeze as much cash as they could. These guys wanted to play 82 games and get paid like they played 162 which would be like working 40 hr weeks and getting paid for 80 hr weeksLast edited by tjfla; 07-24-2020, 06:50 AM.

tjfla, no one has talked about the elephant in the room. I never saw a word written about the top prospect ... poised for a 2020 debut ... that somehow rolled into spring training so horribly overweight that he couldn't even work out with all the other pitchers. Do your sources have any info on what the heck happened to Six-ton Sanchez? Was it beer, Golden Corral or Krispy Kreme? I've never heard a word on the subject from reporters or team management. (Although I sort of joke, what does this situation say about off season training/preparation and the player's commitment?)
For all the Tyler Heineman fans, he opened the season with a bunt single against a defensive shift and scored the Giants first and only run vs. the Dodgers last night. Line single to RF in his second at bat vs. Dustin May. Flew out to Mookie Betts in his third and final AB. Former Marlin Kike Hernandez was the hitting star for LA, going 4-5 with five rbi. Austin Barnes had a hit and an RBI. Starlin Castro went 0-2 in the rain-shortened Nationals opener.Last edited by Lee Stone; 07-24-2020, 07:41 AM.
