    Now Clemson too
Thats why u have taxi squads and stay in a bubble. Bet most of these kids went to some beach/party/club/out to eat within the past week. 1 got it and then came BACK to the bubble and got the rest of them sick. CFB isnt too hard-all stay in same dorm/practice/remote classes/dont go out on weekends!

These kids are making millions of dollars but have the need to go out and have fun.

Its like the SF 49ers-they thought it would be smart to all meet in Tennessee(NO bubble-guys from all overtravel to hang out) 1 guy sick and now all cant do crap

I could care less about politics but just watch this Trump thing tonight-20,000 people from all over meeting in a enclosed space. Its not gonna end well,I bet 50+ already have it which means thousands will by next week when they all go home. If u keep the same 100 people everyday in the same bubble u have ALOT better chance of being ok then if u have 100 people coming in and out daily

Yup, stupidity all to further the ego of a narcissistic moron. Joel Sherman now reporting mlb is thinking of closing down all camps to clean everything again and the majority of players aren’t even there yet. I’m telling you all this negotiating is for nothing. The season will not be completed if it even starts

Can we just leave the politics out of it? We get it, you don't like the guy. No need to have every other post calling everyone a moron.

All camps were already closed yesterday.

Not being a piece of shit and wearing a mask and trying to diminish this pandemic isn’t a political issue so no. I will continue to bring up the stupidity every time it manifests itself. Not being a piece of shit in the middle of a pandemic isn’t a red vs blue issue so I will rightfully continue to bring it up every time I can, specifically as it will impact this mlb season because this stupidity will impact any ability to have a baseball season

          • Players voted against MLB's latest/60 game proposal 33-5. So incredibly dumb that they can't bridge a 10 game gap.

            • fish16 has told us 47 times that there will be no MLB season. Maybe he knows something we don’t know.

              • Apparently MLB is going to implement a 60 game season and revert to the March agreeement (meaning no DH in NL, no expanded playoffs, etc). I disagree with the idea to revert to the March agreement, but I'm thinking of the longer term relationship between the league and the union, and the looming CBA negotiations after December 2021.

If I'm the league, despite them rejecting it, I go with the "olive branch" approach and implement the 60-game proposal with full prorated salaries and the expanded postseason/DH things that both sides were ok with instead of reverting to the March thing.

I think it'd be better for the league to be able to tell the players, hey, despite you not working with us to meet in the middle, we're pushing past the March agreement to give you more than we could, and that that approach would help in CBA negotiations.

My problem is - the two sides couldn't agree on a season..........and the gap was 10 GAMES. And we expect CBA negotiations to go swimmingly?

                • I would have thought that expanded playoffs would be greatly appreciated by the players. 16 teams instead of just 10 would have made games more interesting to watch AND play. Chen will be baseball's highest paid player this year!

                  • None of this bodes well for upcoming CBA negotiations. Manfred needs to go, and Tony Clark probably should to.

It wasn't expanded playoffs that they didn't want, it was the combination of bad faith negotiations leading up to this, and the fact that if they took this deal they wouldn't have been able to file a grievance. They should have taken the deal anyway, though. Both sides in this botched things so badly, it's really hard to comprehend. They've already pissed their fans off, and now there is going to be an even bigger fight coming in 2021. They could do some real damage to the longterm health of the sport.

100% - 2021 negotiations are going to be a disaster.

That's why I thought MLB should extend the olive branch and give them the most recent 60-game proposal anyway.

Yeah, it was very, very stupid on their part not to do that until the 11th hour. Especially when they were clearly willing to get to that point anyway. It would have also been a nice olive branch for the players to take this last offer, but they were to bull-headed as well.

Players wanted to get PAID for 10 more games they said NO and lost extra playoff pay and other stuff. Just shows the greed of some of these guys

This season won’t be completed if it gets to the point where it even starts. Any word on where they are going to be doing the “spring training”? Cause they can’t be stupid enough to bring them all down to Florida and Arizona

                              - - - - - - - - - -

And that is even more so in the nba where they foolishly think that Orlando was/still is a genius place to do the bubble. No shot that works out and the season gets finished. I hope I’m wrong because fuck I miss sports but this whole putting sports money over health/human lives is beyond irresponsible and it will end with a player or a family member of a player being seriously ill or killed

                              • Really looking forward to intrasquad games in a couple weeks. I hope they televise a couple.

Here's a thought I haven't heard discussed. Given the relatively low cost of Dickerson and Villar contracts this short season, might their trade value get a bump? I could see either or both traded prior to the start of the season to a playoff contender that appreciates a 63% discount.
