      $30M. Of $325M, or 9.23%.

5 competing buyers because it's a very limited asset. Duh.

I get what the guy is trying to say, but those points don't mean you can't lose money.

The international signing period has been moved to January 15th, 2021 through December 15th, 2021.

The Marlins are in the category with the most money at $6,431,000.

Marlins actually have around 3 million because Yiddi Cappe has had a 3.5 Million dollar deal in his hand since June 2019

It does make sense since most of these IFA dont play anyways. Teams just like to sign them so they are under control and they can teach English and get them in weight room

          • Manfred just needs to go.

Give the players what they want and HOPE to avoid a strike after the 2021 season.

            • If something doesn't happen real quick that's how Manfred's stint as commissioner will be remembered. "We're 100% going to play in 2020" one week to "I'm not confident we're going to play in 2020" the next.

If they don't work something out, hopefully that'll lead to Manfred's dismissal.

                • there aint gonna be a season. between the money and the fact that corona virus has continued to explode in this country no matter how much our governmental leaders want to ignore or deny the reality of what is happening there will not be pro-sports leagues coming back any time soon. Especially the NBA in that orlando bubble idea.

Breaking: MLB commissioner Rob Manfred and players union chief Tony Clark had what’s being called a productive meeting face to face in Arizona. Meeting was called at Manfred’s request

A face to face meeting between these two should have taken place weeks ago. There is a deal to be made and it's the same as it has been for a while. 70-75 games, full prorated salaries, expanded playoffs, no grievances filed. Let's go already.

There will be sports. There is far too much money on the line for sports not to happen.

there can be as much money as possible involved, if there is a deadly pandemic that has been allowed to continue to spiral out of control due to lack of testing and contact tracing and the fact that americans are beyond selfish and stupid and bitch about the easiest precautions like wearing a mask and not being able to go out to bars and restaurants and dumbass political rallies for a period of time it is just going to linger. every other country was able to complete the proper procedures and preventative measures ahead of time but because we're being run by a moron who refused and continues to refuse to get out in front of this thing this is just going to contnue to linger until he can be replaced by someone who is competent.

We can continue to deny the facts but reality catches up to people in denial. I will go on record that unless there is a massive cover up the likes of which this country has never seen none of these sports are going to come back any time soon this year.

Not getting political and hillary clinton sucks but just using the graph in this tweet- it is not possible to be more incompetent than the response we have had to this virus and the fact that it never really got down to the levels needed before we tried to get back to normal is just indicative of a complete lack of focused leadership. even the reccomended levels that it needed to get down to for a 2 week period by the CDC were just completely ignored because people prioritized the economy for a few months over the health and safety of millions of people, as if those were two mutually exclusive choices. Now, you will see in the next few weeks we will have to go back to square one on this thing and the economy will suffer even more than it already did becuase no one in leadership positions in our government have any vision towards the future in this election year

I'm not disagreeing that the US response to the virus has been terrible. And I also agree that people not wearing masks, indoor rallies, packing in to bars, etc. is stupid and selfish.

That said, the sports leagues need to play or they face disastrous financial consequences that will last for years. There is a way for these leagues to play sports as safe a humanly possible and they will 100% attempt to. It will take constant testing, strict social distancing/mask-wearing away, and isolation away from the games, but all involved have the incentive to try and make it work.

#Marlins today released 30-plus minor leaguers, a mixture of U.S. and Dominican players, sources tell The Athletic. Team did not release any minor leaguers in spring and plans on signing additional undrafted players.

Have to figure the Union counters with a higher amount of games and they settle around 65.
