Jerar just hit a really impressive opposite field homer into the wind. Wow.

Fish win 5-3.
Observations. Lewin, Jazz and Jerar were very impressive. Harrison showed a solid approach and got to show off his speed, good day other than the misplay. Harold looked locked in. Dugger looked good, although all the Mets major league players were out by the time he came in.

But, yes, I agree that on a board that is made up of diehards, it seems like the vast majority of this board doesn’t make it to more than 3 or 4 games a year.

Hoping that once the Brightline makes it to Orlando, it may allow me to make it to more games, other than my 1 or 2 a year.

Yeah I'm in Orlando too, I don't even really get to a game a year. My family moved out of SoFla a few years ago.Originally posted by Madman81Most of the people in the world being dumb is not a requirement for you to be among their ranks.

Living in Delray Beach and choosing not to die on I-95 keeps me away from Marlins Park and on my couch. When did drivers stop using turn signals? I'm thinking declining attendance at baseball games in general might have something to do with the cheap, five-foot, high definition TV's in every living room ... and buck-a-bottle beer in the fridge.
We'll be watching minor league ball for the next week or ten days, then things should get started.
Note: If you are looking for real signs of disinterest in the Marlins, consider that this is probably the MOST populated Marlin forum there is. 10 contributors. And half of those are only around to denigrate the thoughts of others. At Fishstripes, there were four comments on the spring opener yesterday. Atlanta's version of that, Talking Chop, had 131 ... and they were all polite.Last edited by Lee Stone; 02-23-2020, 06:24 AM.

Lee, this is not an attempt to denigrate your thoughts........
I live 8-10 miles south of you and I’d never dream of taking I-95 the whole way down to Marlins Park. That would be stressful indeed.
If you want to make a once a year trip to Marlins Park to hear the crack of the bat in person I highly recommend the Turnpike to the I-95 Express Lanes. And to add to that, arrive 90 minutes before first pitch; traffic around the ballpark is substantially better at that time.
I got a 10 game weekend pack for 3 people this season for $376 out the door (Section 40). That includes Opening Day. And $3 Nathan’s hot dogs (that taste better than the $7 hot dogs when Darth Loria owned the team).
NOTE: I got a FREE year long subscription to MLB TV for 2020 when I bought my 10 game pass. I believe that normally costs like $100-$130.

Sounds like a great deal. My son and grandsons spend the summers with me and they drive down to the games all the time. They leave early to watch batting practice and always come home with three or four balls. I'm just too old for all that.

Pretty much a whole new lineup vs the Nats today. Corey Dickerson must have sung, "Put me in coach, I'm ready to play today. Look at me, I can be, Centerfield

Really liked the steals of 3B yesterday, even with two out. From third, runner can score on IF hit, error, WP or PB. I hope Harrison can de-whiff his way to starting CF for Marlins.
Both former Milwaukee first basemen in the lineups today. Both are playing for similar money ... I would have opted for Thames if I had to take one of them.Last edited by Lee Stone; 02-23-2020, 11:52 AM.
