Reds are considering trading Nick Senzel. Have heard his name is out there on market.

This is something the Marlins should explore...

Because IF he is over them he is ML Starting C still. If Cervelli makes it to July with no concussions or head issues then he instantly becomes the #1 C on the market for any playoff team who lost their #1 or wants a better backup. 2 million is a small risk

When I say "concerned" I mean they understand he could get 1 at anytime. Its like the NFL when guys who keep getting them seem to keep getting them from just little hits

4/50-60 Marlins offered at beginning of FA which Boras responded with 6/100+ after Moose got his cash

Can't fault Miami for this-they had to move on

Pitching and could use a MIF. We got tons of pitching and Devers is expendable with Jazz around

Opt out is after year 1.

We would probably go for Ozuna over him next year IF we in OF market

That's crazy. Maybe it's not so much of a missed opportunity as if he sucks or gets hurt, that's when he doesn't opt out.

Boras will have him opt out and try for the 6/100 again!!

He's exactly what they need and would compliment all the longterm OF. He was good enough in CF last year.

I'm sure they want to shoot for the moon with Lindor, but Caleb, Rojas, and a good non-40 man OF (Scott, Misner) would be really competitive in a package. Hell, Villar could work too.

                  Alfaro, Cervelli
                  Aguilar, Cooper (Diaz mid season)
                  Diaz
                  Villar/Rojas, Berti
                  Anderson
                  Dickerson, Ramirez
                  Senzel, Sierra (Monte mid season)
Puig < - Because you just sign him in this alternative universe for 3 years. Or Myers in a dump. Etc.

Sit on Sanchez/Bleday for a year and see who takes over for Dickerson, and trade the other for whatever. Jazz internally replaces Villar.

                  - - - - - - - - - -

They should be all over that for sure. Villar/Rojas, Caleb, and non 40 man prospects for a Senzel led package.

                  • As someone else already said, is it possible that Brinson could be DFA’d? He’s been awful obviously, and no longer projects as a long-term anything in the organization.

                    • I think Senzel was a little overrated as a prospect, but I do like his versatility, and he would be a good compliment for what we have coming up.

Eventually yes but he has 1 option left which means they will probably let him try this year just in case

If he is hitting .150 in August he gone next offseason

                        Harold,Brinson,Cooper all have options

You’re saying Cooper, with an option, could be DFA’d though. Why Cooper and not Brinson? I get that Brinson might have higher upside because...well, his age only...but I just think both sides could use the change of scenery regardless. At least Cooper has performed when he plays.

Just cut your losses with Brinson already and get whatever you can get back now imo.

Would you rather bet on Brinson's upside with 1 more year in AAA versus having Dugger, Holloway, or Mejia? That's more likely the roster decision.

They can DFA Wallach and trade Urena/Conley/Cooper/Hernandez to open up spots for Joyce and Kintzler.

If they were to trade Senzel, I assume at least two 25 man roster players would be moved so there isn't an issue with keeping Brinson. They have 40 man space.

His upside is still too high to give up. A swing tweak could turn him into a low .700 OPS bat, and if he gets his head together defensively, that could turn into Michael Taylor very quickly.

I'm also not saying that is a probability, I'm just saying wait to see what he looks like in August. If he still sucks, that'll be that.

Upside still there. Brinson at worst is a 4th OF who can't hit. Cooper at worst is a guy who is 1B/DH whose injured alot

Again when they heard the Dean offers and were told they would get same for Cooper it peaked interest. They dont see Cooper here in 2021 and if Brinson still can't hit he won't be either

I keep Mejia just to see but Holloway u might be able to sneak thru

They would love this. Brinson as a 4th OF on a good team
