What's wrong with it? The worse the team plays now, the better they'll have to play down the road. They are likely a true talent .500 team, as I've said much of the season, they cannot afford to be this deep into a hole. I used 85 wins because Fangraphs has the Mets winning the second wild card with 84 wins as of right now.

How about we wait til the end of June to see where we are before saying lets blow up the whole team. Teams go on streaks. We have been up and down. If it wasn't for the blown saves these 2 loses to the Braves wouldn't of stung so bad. We will be fine.

Actually they would; the Braves aren't as good of a team as the Dodgers or Giants.

we've lost 5 of 6, which is fucking annoying

we're also still 13-10 since that stupid start, we keep that pace up and we're 86-76 at the end of the year

or we're a 4-16 team that just got hot in the middle

              who knows at this point

Right-hander Mat Latos, who exited Saturday's game in the fourth inning with a left shin contusion after a liner struck him, should be back for his next scheduled start on Thursday against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Prior to Sunday's batting practice, Redmond didn't expect to push him back a day for extra rest.
"I'm not anticipating that," Redmond said of. "I guess the next couple days we'll be able to tell more if that would become an option. I'm anticipating him being fine. Just sore."
When Latos entered the clubhouse on Sunday, he walked with a limp and the bruise was covered. X-rays on Saturday turned out negative and his manager explained it as "just a sore left ankle/shin area."

We aren't a legitimate contender if we're 2 games under .500 in middle July with Jose back?! Have you ever followed a baseball season from beginning to end?

85 wins is only 8 games over .500. If we are 2 games under .500 by mid-July, figure that's approximately 90 games left in the season at that point. We could go 50-40 from that point on and be "legitimate contenders." C'mon!

The teams that win the Wild Card aren't playing their best ball until the last 6 weeks of the season anyway

                Serious fun! GET IT IN!

So you're saying we can get into the playoffs by beating up on the weak teams and then lose in the wild card game. That's exactly what the definition of contending is.

Selling is pointless. There is nothing to sell. They went all-in with this team and they're pretty much stuck with it at this point. If this team sucks, we're probably going to suck for many years. There's a core in place and they're going to believe in that core. If they sell, it'll be some veterans, which is irrelevant to look forward to since we're getting nothing for them.

Hopefully they start playing better baseball so we can get excited about buying.

god, I'd be so disappointed if we lost in the Wild Card game after everything we've accomplished the last 12 years

                        Tell that to the Giants.

Imaging being a Marlins fan and considering losing in the Wild Card game a failure.

It's a good thing that the Giants and Royals became sellers last year because who cares about a silly wildcard game when you're just going to be one-and-done anyway.

Yeah because the Royals (55-52) and Giants (59-50) records on July 31st were the same as I'm talking about.

And Oakland (66-41) and Pittsburg (57-51) were so different.

                                I don't understand your point.

And yes, the odds were against the Royals last year on July 31st.
More importantly, the stage of our "rebuild" is very similar to the Royals last year.
