I would have had no problem if they had kept Reyes (or reinvested the money into 1 significant position player and replaced one of JJ and Buerhle with a solid veteran SP that wouldn't break the bank, like even E. Jackson on 3 years for $30). It's a huge difference.

his stuff has taken a huge step back. he's not worth the flier. I'd rather see Hand in the bigs for an extended amount of time.Originally posted by Madman81Most of the people in the world being dumb is not a requirement for you to be among their ranks.

I want to see Hand and Fernandez 12 starts to close out the year.
I don't want to see them before then. I think that is pretty fair.
I am into a small MLB deal and incentives to Pavano and a minor league to Jurrjens to fill the "5" spot in camp. I'd like to see LeBlanc in the pen and emergency starter.

he's a year and a half removed from anything decent

Adding to the Nontenders, I think they should give Lannan a guaranteed $1 mil and another $2 in incentives, and minor league invites to Ian Stewart and Ben Francisco. And still think they should sign Pavano. I am also cool with any minor league invite to any RP like Erick suggests above.
Trade out Nolasco to anyone willing to take half his salary and get a young arm or some young 2B/SS type and trade Escobar to Oakland (which is a perfect matchup) for whatever in Oaklands system
The team will obviously suck, but they'd have a ton of guys who still have club controlled years to try and rehab and trade.
C-Brantly
1B-Morrison
2B-Solano
SS - Hechavarria
3B - Kouzmanoff/Stewart
LF - Pierre
Cf - Ruggiano
RF - Stanton
B - Mathis, Kouz/Stewart, Francisco, Dobbs, "2B/SS" (Or maybe even Coghlan?)
SP - Pavano, Turner, Alvarez, Eovaldi, Lannan (Hand 6th SP in AAA)
RP - Cishek, Webb, Dunn, LeBlanc, Ramos, pick 2 Camp Invites/Jennings/Hatcher
Maybe they fight off 100 losses and a few of those vagabonds turn into chips in June/July to get young reliever arms and not rush so many of the kids at least half a year. Perfect world they can trade Kouz/Stewart and bring up Cox, trade Pierre and bring up Yelich, trade Francisco and bring up any backup OF, trade Pavano bring up Fernandez, trade Lannan bring up Hand, and trade any vagabond RP and bring up any young guy. That would at least maximize your resources during the suck.

Actually didn't see the whole list. Add hannahan as a minor league invite as well to "battle" the 25th man/if they keep Coghlan spot, and Ryan Sweeney on a minor league deal as well to "battle" Francisco/Petersen/Gorkys.
What a team.

I'd like to bring in Mark Reynolds if it costs under a mil
there's your power and pretty good D...prefer him to Ian StewartOriginally posted by Madman81Most of the people in the world being dumb is not a requirement for you to be among their ranks.

In no way shape or from is Mark Reynolds pretty good D. I think he is a terrible idea for 3B (and will get a real contract for guaranteed $5-7 for a year or two. Orioles just didn't want to pay him $9-11 in arbitration). He is only good for an AL team as a platoon 1BDH
