Reynolds is one of the worst fielding 3b in the league, if not the worst

Dave Pepe, the agent for pitcher Carl Pavano, spoke to the Marlins yesterday, but there’s no indication on how those talks went.
One Marlins source didn’t seem enthusiastic about the team taking a chance on Pavano, who won 18 games for the Marlins in 2004.

Pavano saw limited action last year because of shoulder issues. And his velocity has fallen over the last two years.

But Pepe is expected to talk with the team again. Bottom line: the Marlins could use a veteran innings-eater on what will be an inexperienced rotation aside from Ricky Nolasco.

And the Marlins might be just the team for Pavano to prove that he’s still an effective pitcher.

Real bottom line: Marlins not interested, but we refuse to let this story die.

Marlins are only interested if Carlo Pavano will accept low base of $3MM or so plus incentives, reports Phil Mackey of ESPN 1500.

Trickle down from Guthrie getting 3/$25 from Royals I imagine.

Because guys like Jeremy Guthrie and Joe Blanton are getting more than double that amount on a yearly basis this offseason.
