i dont see the pressing need for a MIF. Rojas can hold down SS for another year and then while jazz and diaz havent proven anything yet id at least like to give them the chance to prove themselves rather than blocking their path up here. The much more pressing need is a decent 1 year OF, a starting C, and 2-3 good RP's.

One thing that is also gonna be a theme is LHB!!! If u notice keep mentioning guys like Joc/La Stella/Sogard/Didi/Cesar Hernandez/Profar/Brad Miller
Could see Joc(signed fast too) and a Sogard or Cesar Hernandez as FA signed bats then 2 good RP like a Liam Hendricks/Shane Greene. 4 FA guys signed then few RP signed a MilB
We need a OF LHB with power and Mattingly loves Joc.
Joyce-Joc
Kintzler-Liam Hendriks
Box-Shane Greene
RHB(Coop/Harold/Brinson)-Sogard/Cesar Hernandez

Definitely could see us dealing multiple pieces for a quality team controlled bat. I'd keep cooper but harold makes sense as a 3rd or 4th piece and then you have a ton of OF depth to choose from in a trade. Misner, Burdick, Scott, Jerar, Monte, etc are all guys i could see involved and it would still leave you with Bleday, Sanchez, Marte, Cooper, etc.

Free agency really only makes sense if the COVID stuff really depresses the market or for a 2-3 year deal max. For small market teams like us thats not the best way to build.

SP-Rogers/Garrett/Elieser/Cabrera
OF prospect-Jerar/Burdick/Monte/Scott/Misner/Jesus
ML ready bat-Coop/Harold/Brinson/Alfaro
Prospect or young arm who is in pen for us-Have multiple young players who could be thrown in a deal and multiple young RP who others see as SP
This is what they have been offering around the league. Pick 1 from each category and lets talk is pretty much what telling teams. I dont think they trade Cabrera/Jesus/Scott
Very willing to trade a Rogers or Monte(like said before they could have gotten Archie Bradley in Ariz deal for Monte if wanted). They like both BUT see Rogers as a RP in current Marlins rotation and Marte has CF spot with Misner/Bleday/Scott all ready in 2 years so Monte no real spot
If a team wanted Rogers/Monte/Coop/low level arm for a solid player I could see it happening. The West is where they seem to be looking at alot.

salvador perez with 1 year left on his deal would be interesting although he strikes me as a guy who would come here and immediately see a decrease in his numbers. He is a much better version of alfaro though given his similar awful plate discipline but obviously a clear upgrade. I wouldnt give up much for him though. 1 year left, 30 years old, 10+ million dollars due next year.
I would trade one of our top OF or SP prospects for Keibert Ruiz. deal from a position of strength where we have depth and add to the biggest clear hole on the team all while getting a guy with full team control left and a huge ceiling. Dont really know what the dodgers need though given that they have an unbelievable front office, great minor league depth, and more money than they know what to do with. Id tell them take whichever OF prospect other than bleday that they want and a trevor rogers or braxton garrett type arm maybe? Maybe throw dickerson in there since theyre losing pedersen and can afford to take on the salary. im super interested to see what they do with their catcher situation with smith, ruiz, and the 3rd guy in the lower minors whose name is escaping me right now. Those are the types of moves that can really help us and sticks to our long term plan of building within our means.

if the reliever market is as down as it seems like its gonna be we really need to take full advantage. there really are a ton of quality bullpen arms out there. Hendricks, Hand, trevor may, treinen, Alex colome, kirby yates, Greg holland, mark melancn, shane greene, Jeremy jeffress, darren o day. I think 2-3 legit bullpen arms would really help take a lot of pressure off the young arms who have a ton of potential but also might struggle initially going deeper into ballgames and even pablo lopez 3 years into his career struggles in that regard.

The Marlins are missing many ingredients to build a contender but the one that has always stuck out to me was the absence of a Freddie Freeman. If I'm spending a few bucks this year, my first choice is DJ Lemahieu. He's as close as it gets.

We probably get 2 or 3 solid RP and a power bat. Then sign few more MILB with invites. I could see us getting vet MIF IF IF the prices come down. They arent paying 6 million for Hernandez or Kike

Looks like Jacksonville will move up and become our AAA team, and our AA team will now be in Pensacola.
I approve.
