Hendricks, alex colome, kirby yates, melancon all available amidst a bunch of othrs as well. I never really advocate for bullpen arms getting multi year deals but given where we are with so may guys under team control for the next few years it makes a ton of sense.
If we wanna spend 6 million then Brad Hand as CL and decline Kintzler

It’s a pure cost-cutting transaction from Cleveland, with the hope that another team places a claim on the left-hander, who has a $10MM club option on his current contract. Any club that claims Hand would be able to pick up that option and retain him for the 2021 season at that $10MM price.

Hand costs 10 and Kintzler costs 4 so. Would be like the Villar move LY-claim him and trade some DSL prospect to Cleveland for him

Given how other teams are treating relivers with team options (Hand, O'Day, etc.) there is no chance the Marlins pick up the $4 million option on Kintzler. Teams must think that relievers will be available at bargain rates this offseason because of the market.

which would be good for us. we need 3-4 quality bullpen arms to really feel comfortable going into next year. id love brad hand to come back here. it still is crazy to me that he went from someone who couldnt throw a strike to save his life the first time around here to this guy who never walked people out of the bullpen.

I'm waiting for the inevitable implosion once he comes back lol.

The Rays declined their option on Charlie Morton, wonder if he's a vet worth targeting. I know he took a step backward this season, but still.

i was advocating for a little bit of a lesser quality signing for a little less money but id love morton on a 1 year deal. if the market is going to take a hit due to the corona decrease in revenue league wide i really hope we take advantage and go for it. we already have very little in salary due next year with so many guys on team control, id invest 20-25 million in 3-4 quality bullpen arms and 1 rotation piece.

We declined Kintzler's option. I'm surprised, actually.

Bargain rates AND u could offer 2 yr or option deals. U can offer Kintzler a 1 yr with option at like 2.5 million. Teams like vet RP on multiple year deals that way they dont have to rush younger guys

Is there any chance they go all in on Realmuto? I’ve seen some talk from fans about it on social media, but nothing suggesting they’d actually try to do it.

If not him, I do think they should be proactive in trying to get a catcher in the trade market. Maybe call the Dodgers on Ruiz, or make a run at someone more established. They have pitching and OF depth to play with.

Another guy I wouldn’t mind trying to bring back is Kike. If they really are looking at MIF, why not get someone like that who can play everywhere, and is a great locker room guy.

It possible but heard some bad blood between all parties involved(JT/agent/FO). Remember same with Yelich-JT demanded a trade. Romine/Zunino and maybe James McCann on FA market

They are in the C market-dilemma they are having is they arent sure if they wanna go after a established vet or some prospect

Doubtful Rojas has that role starting in 2022. Gonna be some vet who can play 2B/SS/3B on a 1 year deal. If Kike takes a 1 yr deal its possible. Kike/La Stella//Eric Sogard/Marlins killer Cesar Hernandez or try for Didi/Justin Turner/Simmons/Semien or LeMahieu?

They have cash to spend just question of what they gonna spend on. 2 good RP and a bat with some power(MIF? OF? C?) are NEEDS. SP,another 1 or 2 RP,MIF,C are buy low 1 yr maybe?

                        From MLB.com

                        4. The Marlins will … do something interesting!

Coming off a surprise playoff run, in the midst of negotiating a new local TV contract and carrying a payroll with only $27.5 million in guaranteed money for 2021, the Fish are in better position than most to make a splash.

I don’t claim to know exactly what that splash will be, because this market is … uninspiring. Frankly, I doubt they’ll sign Springer or bring back Realmuto or Marcell Ozuna. They’re probably more likely to land a second-tier outfield bat like Joc Pederson, which would probably qualify as significant in and of itself. Perhaps they’ll be this winter’s team that gets aggressive in the bullpen market, where Liam Hendriks, Blake Treinen, Alex Colom

The catcher thing is always tricky because career mediocre catchers sometimes figure it out later on in their careers, and top catching prospects are really hit or miss. In a perfect world, they'd trade for someone like Keibert Ruiz, and he'd lock down the position for the foreseeable future. But the position is so volatile, so you're risking giving up real value on a guy that never amounts to much of anything. I just hope they have a plan, and don't just hope for the best with Alfaro and another Cervelli type.

I'd love Joc Pederson. Too bad Dickerson got a two year deal

They need power so Dickerson around is whatever. Brinson/Monte/Marte/Cooper/Jerar/Harold ALL RHB. Joc would pretty much be a Joyce replacement and we need another LHB

They can go 2 ways this offseason

                                Power MIF-Didi?
                                Vet OF
                                OK RP

                                OR

                                Vet MIF-La Stella? Sogard? Kike?
                                Power OF-Joc?
                                Better RP

I would go for option 2. Vet MIF lets u keep Jazz and Devers in minors and Power OF LHB is neeeded. Jesus and Lewin stay in AAA. Also get better RP like Shane Greene and Hendriks!!
