If Texas wasn't willing to offer Olt in any deal, I don't know why you think the Marlins should've continued talking to Texas (and based on your post, it seems you wanted them to lower their asking price).

The Marlins did the right thing. They asked for Olt in any kind of JJ deal all the way until the end. Say what you want, the Marlins handled these negotiations with Johnson and the Rangers properly. It seems the Rangers are simply playing hardball with both us and the Rays (if you want a top notch pitcher, you need to be willing to give up a top notch prospect, plain and simple).
