      • I rep him every time he posts info. That stuff is gold for message boards.

        • Very true. Definitely one of the reasons I enjoy coming here. Very fun to hear what someone with inside info has to say.

Some of you guys were bashing him last month for not being accurate.

Apparently Ken Rosenthal said there were rumbling that the Diamondbacks target was indeed Josh Johnson.
But what's the difference between pitching on the road and pitching at home? Why is there such a stark difference in those splits?

For JJ, it's nothing. Some of his bad starts happened to be on the road, and it skewed the numbers. Let's not get ridiculous here.

I bashed him because he randomly calls people out for no reason when he's fed something right, and disappears if it's wrong.

Hasn't his BABIP been pretty ridic this year?

                        • JJ had a TJ a while ago, though.

This isn't after tommy john. He had some shoulder inflammation last year that ended up making him miss most the season and he never even got surgery for it so it's sort of a weird situation because we really had no clue what exactly what the problem was. And he came back this year with lower velocity on his fastball and his stuff wasn't as sharp as it use to be.

The only consensus on TJ is that they usually come back throwing harder (if it's a starter, relievers are kind of a crap-shoot to even make it back, like Spooneybarger).

You're thinking of shoulder/labrum surgery/injury to which the answer is "it depends." Not being coy or doing a thing, but while it usually takes 2 years to get "back" from some of the more significant shoulder injuries, sometimes it's a complete death-knell for a pitcher in terms of effectiveness, or even his career.

Velocity loss is a pretty natural thing.
