Apparently Ken Rosenthal said there were rumbling that the Diamondbacks target was indeed Josh Johnson.
For JJ, it's nothing. Some of his bad starts happened to be on the road, and it skewed the numbers. Let's not get ridiculous here.

You're thinking of shoulder/labrum surgery/injury to which the answer is "it depends." Not being coy or doing a thing, but while it usually takes 2 years to get "back" from some of the more significant shoulder injuries, sometimes it's a complete death-knell for a pitcher in terms of effectiveness, or even his career.

He had some shoulder inflammation last year that ended up making him miss most the season and he never even got surgery for it so it's sort of a weird situation because we really had no clue what exactly what the problem was. And he came back this year with lower velocity on his fastball and his stuff wasn't as sharp as it use to be.
