Ugh, I remember that. The best baseball question was the guy who asked 40 questions asking Ozzie how many games we would win this year.

#Marlins Josh Johnson left game for precautionary reasons with a skin irritation on right middle finger; expected to make his next start.

So they took him out on the chance he was developing a blister.

I think we could be better next season while trading JJ, yes. Absolutely.

Damn. We could be really, really bad next year. Which is fine because then they can draft Carlos Rodon in 2014. I'd be down for that.

What would have been irrational about asking for a long term deal for ?

                  3.13 FIP and .345 BABIP

He's still an ace just having a bad year. If we don't get a huge haul for him I'll be very disappointed.

It would take a tremendous offer to let JJ go. I'd be asking for the same price that I would if JJ was pitching like an ace this season.

I'd be pissed trading JJ. Trading him for anything below an amazing offer would infuriate the entire fan base.
So you're okay trading him if the price is right but pissed if they trade him?

I'm pissed about the thought of trading him regardless. I understand there's a chance he's traded, so if we do trade him it better be for a monster haul.

Look at the numbers nny posted. .345 BABIP against him? Do you really see JJ as a guy who will allow that next season? He's absolutely due for a bounce back second half.

                          Profar is unavailable.

They're loaded with young talent, though.

Go to fan fest and you'll see the majority of people who root for this team do not know anything about baseball (or sports for that matter). It could be argued the Heath Bell signing was partially a fan base move and look how well that has turned out. This group has been together since 2006 and the best showing was 87 wins in 2009. Just focus on building a winner and everything will follow.
                          Great post.

Yeah, the peripherals are 95% of what we have come to expect. I'd not want to sell low.

My ears started bleeding during that.

The #RedSox had not one but two scouts at #Marlins Park to see Jodh Johnson pitch. One flew in from San Diego and he saw him in Chicago, too
