This is a good gamble if you ask me. You give up basically nothing for a free Carlos Lee. Yeah, he's nothing special these days, but he's certainly better than Gaby Sanchez at this point. So if Lee produces like a league average first baseman the rest of the year, it's a win. If not, well you didn't give up anything of real value.

I disagree with the fact that Dominguez is automatically nothing of real value. Just last year, some of us were putting a positive spin on his #'s and saying he wasn't a bust. Now he automatically sucks and has no future?

And, you know, has it ever occurred to you, that, instead of, uh, you know, running around, uh, uh, blaming me, you know, given the nature of all this new shit, you know, I-I-I-I... this could be a-a-a-a lot more, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, complex, I mean, it's not just, it might not be just such a simple... uh, you know?

In other words, another year has passed for Matt Dominguez, and, in his second stint at New Orleans, he has a .647 OPS. So it is not unreasonable to expect people to jump ship at some point.

FWIW, I still think he's going to be Pedro Feliz, which is fine.

Do you know of any precedent for a hitter who has a below .700 OPS in 2+ seasons in AAA (and a .730 career minor league OPS) suddenly becoming a good MLB player? The kid cannot hit...it's pretty clear at this point.
