There's nothing deceiving about that.

You're right then. He's been terrible?

Well, no. But my larger point was that he's been pretty good recently, and then you responded by pointing at that 14/14 in saves is irrelevant, so I'm having trouble figuring out what your larger point is.

If you're trying to explain to us that the save is a shitty statistic, you are preaching to the choir.poop

Yeah and every other outing he's had in the last 7 weeks has been scoreless.
So, I would argue the people who are doing the Heath Bell is terrible thing are being terrible by freaking out about 6% of his recent performance.
He's been dominant with 1 bad outing for 7 weeks now.

That's like mibs saying that Volstad was dominant if you take out the 2 HR's he gave up every game.
If you would've given the #'s bobbob gave, I wouldn't have responded.

He's been good lately, but he's had several bumps in the road over his last 24 appearances.
I think a better representation of his dominance lately would be saying something like: "take out that one bad outing and Heath Bell had a great month of June."
Going back 24 appearances and looking at the #'s isn't completely fair because other relievers were bailing him out, at times, toward the latter part of May.

Just noticed this:
It is kind of interesting that the Marlins (3-13) have a worse record in games decided by 5+ runs than the Padres (6-12), Cubs (7-13), and Twins (5-16), the three teams with a worse Pythag. record.
I'm not sure if it is important or meaningful, but it is interesting to me.poop
