        I went to school for a semester with a few guys who played with him. It was well known of his substance use but I am unsure of whether the opioids were well publicized at that point in time.

                            They've also been in the bottom 10 in money spent, I believe. I remember reading that somewhere, but I can't find it.

                            Either way, it's a combination of not spending money on the best player available and not drafting super high. I don't think, at this point, anyone can say that the Marlins guys are either especially good or bad once you account for other things.
