I'm not saying I'm surprised that it's unanimous, but I do think this one's a lot closer than the D-Lee one.

Slightly related, I guess: I think it would be a shame if we didn't remember Uggla's time here positively because of the way he left. Not saying that's what's happening, just hope it doesn't happen.

      Luis Castillo oWAR: 16.9 dWAR: 3.2...Total: 20.1

      Dan Uggla oWAR: 19.1 dWAR: -3.7...Total: 15.4

Uggla averaged a WAR of 3.1 as a Marlin while Castillo averaged a 2.0.

      So it's pretty close.

Well, he put up -.6 WAR in his first 3 part-time seasons and was then 20.7 in his 7 full time years with the club, so they were basically even as full time players. And Luis had the longevity and all the records, so I get why he's the pick. But it's still closer than the vote would let on.

Yeah, thanks for pointing that out Bob about Castillo - hurts the averages quite a bit.

Uggla could have had a 100 WAR every year and it would still be Louie

Luis was the epitome of small ball winning baseball to me. I loved that 03 lineup with Pierre and Castillo at the top. Them two in their primes at the top of our lineup right now would solve a lot of our problems.

Uggla was a monster, but Castillo played baseball the way it's supposed to be played (/cliche).

The combo of Luis and JP at the top of the order was so awesome to watch.

                      That is correct

Then he was injured and spent the rest of the year in Charlotte and was not on the WS roster

does it go on the finger?

If you spend any time with the winning team, you get a ring. (For the most part)

Yes, this is excellent we have all established in a very literal way that Luis played a big part in the 97 championship
