Pitching coach Randy St. Claire says that the 6-foot-8 right-hander is dealing with a mechanical issue. Basically, his arm slot is so high that his head tilts to the left.

"He's a very tall guy. I just think that consistency in repeating that delivery is so close," St. Claire said. "He gets high, and he clears it this way [leaning his head to left side]. His head comes out of the way, and he stays high and the ball comes straight out of his hand."
