So excuse some people to maybe considering it might have been a good opportunity to bring some guys in from the pen.
      Rasmus first hit was garbage.

In the 8th inning, one of the best pitchers in the game still had his stuff.

      Pujols hit was garbage.
He jammed Holliday, and it just so happened to result in a bloop hit.

      Clearly the wrong decision, though.

If it don't work, it's wrong!

The same jam and bloop bullshit happened to Vazquez yesterday and you were crucifying him Erick.

Only kind of. If he was looking gassed in the 7th, yeah, definitely take him out. But he looked strong, he wanted the ball, and he may be the best god damned pitcher in baseball.

Then you saw he was not JJ sharp. Struggled isn't the correct word but had some walks and our defense made some plays on some hard hit balls.

Really disagree with calling it a slam dunk automatic move to send him back out.

I'm just glad to be out of St. Louis and not have to deal with the heart of their order anymore. They are scary.

Now we get to face a team that is very, very not scary. I like that.

                  No, I wasn't.
I wasn't even on the gamethread in that inning.

                  Also, it is different.

At the end of the day, if I'm managing, I'm letting my ace get out of his own jam because he's my best pitcher, anyway. Javy Vazquez is my worst pitcher.

This comment is coming out of nowhere, but if you're going to call yourself Baseball Heaven shouldn't the fans actually make noise during the game?

I didn't call it a "slam dunk move" to send him back out.

I would've been fine having Choate face Rasmus, then bringing in a righty for Pujols, etc.

I'm just really disagreeing with those saying it was wrong to let him pitch the 8th.
There was nothing wrong with him, aside from the fact that he wasn't his normal-self/pitching god today. He was still pitching very well, though; as a matter of fact, he looked better later in the game than he did in the first few innings.

                      Ok, fine.
He was still locating the ball well, as well.

It helps when you face Laird, Descalso, Punto and their rookie Hamilton.

True story, Descalso translates to barefoot in Spanish. I didn't make the connection until I heard Felo pronounce it.

Spelled with a z in Spanish though.

I'm talking about the pitches he was making.

Did Pujols and Holliday hit the ball hard that inning? We're not even having this conversation, if it wasn't for the shit luck he had in that inning.

Can we have that discussion about Javy's last inning yesterday?
