So excuse some people to maybe considering it might have been a good opportunity to bring some guys in from the pen.
In the 8th inning, one of the best pitchers in the game still had his stuff.
Pujols hit was garbage.
He jammed Holliday, and it just so happened to result in a bloop hit.
Clearly the wrong decision, though.
If it don't work, it's wrong!

I wasn't even on the gamethread in that inning.
Also, it is different.
At the end of the day, if I'm managing, I'm letting my ace get out of his own jam because he's my best pitcher, anyway. Javy Vazquez is my worst pitcher.

Really disagree with calling it a slam dunk automatic move to send him back out.
I would've been fine having Choate face Rasmus, then bringing in a righty for Pujols, etc.
I'm just really disagreeing with those saying it was wrong to let him pitch the 8th.
There was nothing wrong with him, aside from the fact that he wasn't his normal-self/pitching god today. He was still pitching very well, though; as a matter of fact, he looked better later in the game than he did in the first few innings.

He was still locating the ball well, as well.

Did Pujols and Holliday hit the ball hard that inning? We're not even having this conversation, if it wasn't for the shit luck he had in that inning.
