I think having him pitch on Monday is the better option this early in the season. Like you said, he hasn't been as sharp his last couple of starts. Pitching against the Mets on Monday lets him get an extra day before going to a big pitcher's park and facing a mediocre lineup.
God would be expecting a first pitch breaking ball in the dirt because humans love to disappoint him.

I'm reluctant to fiddle with the rotation for matchups (and FWIW, I think Nationals Park / Citi is a wash, though JJ struggles with the Mets more than other teams and he doesn't like the mound @ Citi. Worst he's looked since being fully healthy is in NY).

I think it's evaluate solely JJ on regular rest and skip Javy or JJ getting an extra day and throw Javy. I'd prefer to skip Javy, but I think there's tremendous benefits to be had getting JJ that extra day.

Edwin should really just ask JJ straight up when he wants to start of those 2 games.

2.73 career ERA, 1.105 career WHIP vs NYM. 3.14 career ERA, 1.120 career WHIP vs WAS.

Though he did have two bad starts at Citi last year.

He hasn't been very good in Citi. Small sample size though.

It's mostly the result of two bad starts, one on opening day last year, and one towards the end of last year. I don't know how much we should actually put into that.

Yeah, my thing was with Citi more than the Mets in general.

I think he should pitch sunday because I'm going and I'll go bald if i have to watch Vaz pitch.

I think this thread is in dire need of a title change. It's totally false.

The belief now is that he can be back by July 1-3.
