Loria and Samson's Mom divorced years ago (that article only talks about the filing, but it went through). Back at the idiot tank, when the divorce was happening there were "rumors" and "speculation" from those on the board who you'd expect to get worked up about this stuff that the divorce was going to bleed Loria dry and he'd have to sell either part or all of the team. There's like a sentence about that in the linked article. Of course, that did not happen, probably because Loria had an excellent family lawyer.

But yeah, firing Samson wouldn't result in any family acrimony. I'm sure they'd miss Samson's ability with lobbyists (based on his performance with the Miami Commission of Asstards) and general business stuff but there are plenty of smart people out there who could ably take over and do the job just as well, if not better. The problem is that the most highly qualified of them probably wouldn't tolerate working for a goon (wanks approves of this characterization) like Loria.

Bobby wants the FO to ask about high named guys on the trade block and be in play for big named FA because even tho he likes the team he knows they need help.

He has no interest in coming into a situation where he knows he has no chance of winning with the team he has. This was the reason why he was not to crazy about the Baltimore job,he knows that will take a few years to turn around and he wants to win now

Your boy works for Rosenthal, right? If so, what you've said directly contradicts what the above article - an article written by Rosenthal - says.

Rosenthal is saying the struggle is not over money, or, alternatively, that the Loria wants to hire Valentine and Samson does not. If your boy is getting his info from Rosenthal, why is your boy's info contradicting what Rosenthal is writing?
