  • Say Gaby Keeps Hitting the Ball All Year...

Do we think that next year Coghlan will be back at 3b with Logan in LF and Stanton in RF?

Gotta think this is what the front office would believe, yes?

(maybe Boner at 2b too, but I do not want to think about this)

I don't think they see Cogs as a long term infielder...

It'd be interesting, because it does seem sometimes that this front office can get something stuck in their head a certain way and just think that whatever status quo they have created is the best - at the expense of a potentially more productive answer

Cogs has to be out of LF soon. Me no like him there one bit

Yes, moving CC to the OF was a move out of necessity. The FO has moved guys around the infield in the past. (Cabs)

I'm skeptical that Gaby will keep hitting all year.

I think May will be a nightmare for him.

But if he does Cogs has to go to the infield if the goal is making the team better.

Logan in LF, Stanton in RF and Cogs at 3B sounds very sexy doesn't it?

I'd think Cogs would go to 2B, depending on Dominguez's development and assuming Uggla's on his way out after this year.

If Dominguez hits well enough in AA this year that he's penciled in to start 2011 in AAA, and thought to be one year away from MLB, playing Cogs at 3B in 2011 isn't a good idea, because then Cogs would just be at 3B for a year and have to shift positions again if everything with Dominguez works out.

If Dominguez and Gaby have good years AND if they shift Logan to LF, move Cogs back to the infield, and use Bonifacio as a placeholder (and they damn well may do this, as angering as it is to think about) or platoon guy, it's more likely (or at least smarter if) they go Logan in LF, Cogs at 2B, Bonifacio at 3B, Dominguez at 3B in AAA and ready to go if he produces with the bat and when Bonifacio still can't hit.

What brings you to that conclusion? Just curious.

I'll answer this from a different angle than what you may have been expecting.

The Marlins have played 3 regular season games. There are 159 left. So while I have no concrete evidence to suggest he won't keep hitting, he has hit well in 3 games and has to continue to hit well for 159 more (yes I'm aware he doesn't have to hit well in all 159 but you get my point).

                      Why single out May though?

Scouting reports. May sounded like a good time for some scouting reports to catch up to him.

Don't bring him up already PLEASE

Still getting over the fact he could have been in Minnesota right now if we acted faster but whatever(O wait Minnesota did NOT have the cash or need for a 2nd baseman according to a few on this board)

                            Gotta love the knowledge
