Horrible idea? No. Know your audience.

However this is completely silly.
If you're going to throw out a nod to the Hispanic community, have a retro night once a month where the Marlins where a jersey from an old Cuban or Puerto Rican league team. Throwing 'Los' on the jerseys every Friday is excessive and accomplishes nothing.God would be expecting a first pitch breaking ball in the dirt because humans love to disappoint him.

If they really wanted to appeal to the Hispanic fans, let them bring bongos, pots, pans and any other percussion item they would like to use to make loud noises. It's part of the Hispanic baseball experience and IMO creates a really fun environment to watch a baseball game.
I understand that this would never fly in the MLB, but it would be awesome if it did.

Really?? You thought I was calling you a racist? Why would I do that? That certainly wasnt my intent. All I was saying is that you have to realize that we live in an area that has a lot of Hispanics and they are building a stadium in Little Havana...therefore they have to market to Hispanics...just like other teams and sports have done. That was my only point. It wasn't a personal attack.

I fail to see what harm adding the word "Los" to the jersey 10 or 15 times a year will do. They already have Fiesta Fridays all the time and Hispanic singers at Super Saturday. Why is this such a big deal? Just accept the fact that we live in an area with a lot of spanish speaking people and get over it. I don't speak a word of spanish and I have no problem with it. In fact, if not for the Hispanic population, odds are we may not be building a stadium right now. A lot of the most supportive commissioners that voted for the stadium represent areas that are mostly hispanic.

It doesnt sound like it to me. He is just saying:
1) Its not a big deal, oh no, we add a patch on Fridays!
2) It is one small way they go after the hispanic market which we need to understand is going to be a big part of this operation.
This thread was ridiculous enough on page 1
