They should be calling up all of these Heineman, Alvarez, Noesi, and Milbrath guys and seeing if another Berti shows up. Just saying, Castano might have already crossed that bridge. Especially as a lefty. The front office is I'm sure aware of his mini-breakout.

This is the presumptive 40 man if we think they keep Berti and Castano which I'm finding likely at this point.

They do need to sign 2-3 veteran bats at minimum to help out as at least 4 (L. Diaz, Jazz, Monte, Sanchez) aren't available until after the Super2 deadline (or later), so this is getting crunched. I can see them giving some veterans minor league deals (like Granderson) to not protect them on the 40 man and keep another reliever through spring training and hope there isn't a later DFA claim. That would let them protect those last few RP arms and they could basically tell the vet this is a procedural move but you're on the team.

    Alfaro, Wallach (2)
    Cooper, L. Diaz (2)
    I. Diaz, Berti (2)
    Rojas, Jazz (2)
    Anderson (1)
    Brinson, Sierra, Monte (3)
    Ramirez, Dean, J. Sanchez (3)
    =15

    Maybe - Riddle, Brigman

-Urena, Caleb, Pablo, Sandy, E. Hernandez, Yamamoto, Sixto, Neidert (8)
-Steckenrider, Stanek, Brice, Brigham, Guzman, Holloway, Dugger, Mejia (8)
-Garcia, Conley, Quijada, W. Stewart, Castano (5)
    =21

Maybes - Tayron, Milbrath, Poteet, Noesi, Keller, Kinley, C. Smith, Graves, Eveld, Beggs, Mills, D. Lee, Chen (lol)

I think this is a bit optimistic, but I completely agree this looks like a very smart and opportunistic move.

Let's just hope the PTBNL is not someone like Osiris and outside top 30.
Hoping it is some 40 man type like Schales was but Minnesota loves Osiris so always a chance

I think Dylan Lee gets added but rest of the maybe list looks good. They like Alex Mateo,Chad Smith,Poteet and Eveld but Some RP we could see added even tho they arent needing to be yet are Tyler Stevens/Alex Vesia/CJ Carter/Aiello

Brigman was a lock but after trades and crappy year he is probably off

Steck is prolly going on 60 Day(arm) and Urena is either getting traded OR more likely CLOSER

He is protected already since he is on the 40 man

Reason he was added to 40 man NOW is they get a chance to look and if they like him they can keep him. If not they DFA him and move on

If they didnt add him he could have left as FA

My sentiment exactly. Apparently that was a poll of team managers in Low A. His transition to A+ has been flawless ... save for the inning restriction. I wonder about last night and only 58 pitches. Don't know if he was injured or not.

Cabrera's nod as best hurler in the FSL was a big deal too ... lots of good pitchers there.

Best defense at their positions for Chisholm and double D's, Isan and Lewin, made me smile. I'm sure Monte Harrison was near the top for the PCL; I think he got the honor in the Southern League last year.

Watching Lewin Diaz at AA a little bit recently, can confirm he's an excellent first baseman. Reminds me a lot of D-Lee over there.

I got the milb tv coverage last season and enjoyed it. This year would have been much better!

im so excited to see what he turns out to be. IDK if they intend on doing it, but it seems like if they tweak his swing a little his power will be even better. It seems like his current stance isnt conducive to launch angle and yet he is still crushing the ball. When he hits hr's just from the highlights ive seen it doesnt even look like he squares the ball up. Maybe im seeing that wrong, but go look at that video from youtube of his highlights from thus far this year. He doesnt even barrel the ball up and it goes out.

Treatment of infection for Cabrera. https://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/ba...ith-infection/

Neidert, Sanchez and Garrett all throw tonight. Jose Devers played in the GCL game (as DH).

Another good outing from Sixto. They're definitely being very careful with him. Seems like they've been capping him out around 70 innings the last couple of starts. Lewin Diaz continues to hit bombs.

One thing I've noticed from Jesus Sanchez is all the scouting reports said the biggest knock on him is plate discipline. Since he's joined New Orleans, 9 games, 8 Ks, 7 BBs.
