Palacios looks good in the Dominican League. Just 18 years old. Long, long term outlook.

    - - - - - - - - - -

Marlins could legitimately open the majors with a rotation that includes

    Alcantara
    Lopez
    Neidert
    Gallen

It won't win you a lot of games initially, but there's a lot of potential there. It's exciting these are all guys who can contribute by 2019 and not 3-4 years from now.

And all acquired within the last year. This is why you build through the farm as a small market team. Depth in baseball is incredibly important. Even if some of these guys flame out, which they will, you acquire as many options as possible in the belief that you can find some group of 5 quality starters out of a group of 15. Ive been saying it for years, but that is why we were so bad for the last decade. IT wasnt the lack of star power, it was the sheer ridiculous amount of holes on the roster because we would pin all our hopes on a guy like Mike Morse at 1b and when he didnt pan out we didnt have any backup plans and thus had numerous holes all throughout our lineup and rotation for years.

Really excited to see our draft picks develop. Granted, it means nothing, but by all accounts people around the league seem to think we did a really good job and behaved like Loria would never behaved.

Ignore hitting. Focus on pitching. It'll make you feel better.

Didn't realize Nick Wittgren got sent to the minors after putting up a 3.63 ERA in the majors. Ok then.

He keeps getting sent down because he has options. Can't send Elieser or Graves down

                        Yamamoto up to Jax!!!

Yeah, Wittgren is caught up in a numbers crunch, but I'm sure he'll be back as soon as Ziegler is dealt.

Gallen has been struggling pretty badly the last month or so. Give him the rest of the year in AAA and maybe the beginning of next year too.

Btw, Paddack just got promoted to AA. His numbers in the bet hitting league in the minors are...... scary good. Ive seen some scouts/insider tweets about people having him among the top 3 RHP's in the minors. At least we were able to get a clearly about to regress Fernando Rodney to add to a team that wasnt anywhere near being a playoff contender.
