I have a complaint against the game.

I tried to buy out a guy in his first year with one of those "Dirt Cheap Evan Longoria" contracts, and the game wouldn't let me because my owner wouldn't sign off. What gives?

If you limit it to 2% a year on the inflation side you're talking about a $5M increase between now and 2013.

If we exclude the amount teams purchase from each other to go over the cap, I wouldn't be surprised if salaries deflated.

You cant really do longira contracts in the game anyway, players generally don't sign those kind of contracts (and if they do, it's no where close to longoria's value). generally speaking, buying out arbitration years in the game is a bad idea. Not always. And buying out the last year with one FA year is a good buy. but I generally wouldnt worry to much about signing guys without 4+ years of service time.

To avoid rehashing the salary cap issue, I also do not favor altering the cap. The reason the cap is in place was to create balance so we wouldn't have the Yankees and Marlins situations. It forces you to make tough decisions to get under cap eventually but it's fair for everyone.

              How is 2% a year creating a Yankees-Marlins situation?

Like I said, I'm not rehashing this. I do not remember what thread all of that was in but I'm sure either someone knows or knows how to find it. I just don't want to beat that horse again. Not only is that horse dead, it's decayed.

Yeah, I'm against raising the cap as well. It sucks that you took over a team with poor finances, but consider that your "challenge" to overcome as the team's new GM. Make trades, etc.
You know what the difference between Jeremy Lin and Tim Tebow is?... Jeremy Lin is probably a good Quarter Back.

BTW I'd be for teams having different budgets based on market size and shit like that. it'd be kinda fun even though not very fair to some.

I guess Honolulu is gonna lose its team.

This would not be good for the Stone Crabs.

If we include the Yukon Territory, Nunavut and British Columbia in the Anchorage-Juneau-Seward-Prudhoe Bay market it might be big enough.

Anchorage still has two teams. BP's and my AA team. Quite unusal but there are two.

I could have been a contender according to my Pythagorean record. I don't have to make any moves to get under cap, either.
