Right. Or anyone "big" at this point. Build from within. Get some more Slowley guys, a bullpen arm and maybe a backup infielder/outfielder, but that's it. The third and second base crop this off-season is brutal.

But if it's a short term one or two year deal, why not? Slowey is ass, we don't want more him's.

Signing JJ to a short term deal like Erick's hypothetical would be awesome as hell.. That's exactly the type of high reward signing that could put us over the top.

Only 43.5% of his pitches are in the strike zone this season, which would be 5th worst in baseball if he qualified. It was 44.7% last season. Before that he was over 50% for his career.
