you've got players playing for "heritage" teams they have nothing to do with except maybe a parent or grandparent was from there, countries who couldn't have two shits about baseball pretending to care about baseball, a team made up of solid but mostly unspectacular players against the rest of the world's best
to me it's less entertaining than the all star game, at least at the asg i see, you know, all stars

I think as this tournament gathers momentum, many of those problems will be eliminated. It's crazy popular everywhere outside the US, and it has increased interest in baseball in Europe and South America. A friend of mine from Italy, not named Sandroimbuto, is watching the tournament with his friends in Italy. When would they have done this previously? The Netherlands is the best example of this. Overnight they have become a powerhouse in international competitions and a 15,000 seat ballpark is being constructed outside Amsterdam.

I just enjoy it for what it is instead of disliking it for what it's not.
It's competitive baseball at a time when there isn't any, so I'm cool with it.
I really like watching Team Japan play.
One thing I love about the WBC is watching all these styles of play competing against one another. Asian baseball is great to watch, both the players and fans.

Yeah, there are certainly ways to improve it, but I enjoy it. The players and fans are passionate about it, which I generally enjoy (see our college sports arguments).
I hope they, eventually, move it to July and take 2 weeks off with no ASG that year like the NHL does for the Olympics.
This.
I'm with Hugg 100%. I just haven't seen any of the games in Japan because they're on in the middle of the night. I did see a bit of Puerto Rico-Venezuela. The Puerto Ricans were loving it and it was fun to watch.
