Major League spring training teams from the left more than a month, although the "Little Prince" Feld (Prince Fielder), Oscar Wote name pitcher (Roy Oswalt) and other free-agent movement is still uncertain, the market Redu may be the most "hidden version of" free agent - former Cuban national team outfield Sai Peida (Yeonis Cespedes).Need help? when you consider that:
a) Cody is on the wrong side of 30, and
b) Yoenis has built in appeal that Cody will never have, and
c) Cody is what he is and is likely to regress, while you know there's at least some potential in Cespedes
I cannot fathom why you would rather have a Cody Ross at 2/10 or 3/15 than a Yoenis Cespedes at 6/30. If the asking price is $45-60 like was once reported then that's insane, but it seems like that was just the hypeman doing his thing.Originally posted by Madman81Most of the people in the world being dumb is not a requirement for you to be among their ranks.

I'd rather have nothing than Cody at 2/10 or 3/15.
--------------------
That sentence could be misconstrued as there's nothing I'd rather have than Cody at 2/10 or 3/15 when what I actually mean is that not spending money is better than Cody at 2/10 or 3/15.

Cespedes is a risk at any price.
However it's a risk the team should take, as long as it's not the $60 million guaranteed number or anything close. If it's 6/42, I think I'd do it. It's a high-risk, high-reward contract that would potentially pay itself back.
And I don't think $7 mil cripples the franchise, or makes it so we can't extend Stanton. I think this is similar to the Pujols situation; it comes from a different pot.poop
