If that's what the Twins want, they should just accept the Clippard deal. It's basically the same thing. Clippard's actually been the better reliever the past couple of years.

Clippard is closer to making money and doesn't have Storen's upside. Clippard is two years older and has the worst GB% in baseball.

Storen's a far more valuable piece. Doesn't make it a good trade, but guys like Span who get so much value from defense and baserunning are perpetually underrated.
