They have a bunch of power bullpen arms who could become something. Even if they don't, a bullpen is rather easy to fill.

If they trade Storen, the guy taking over that role is better than Storen (Clippard).

Denard Span's spent four years in the big leagues, never posting a WAR of less than 2.6.

In '09, he put up a 4.1 WAR.

He's an underrated player.

Puts the ball in play, great .OBP guy, and defensive numbers have him as rather awesome.

Not to mention that his speed also makes him a + on the bases.

It's not as terrible as it sounds.

A good CF'er > relief innings which end up being irrelevant anyway because your lineup/team isn't good enough.

Plus, Storen isn't exactly dominant anyway. He's just a good reliever.

I talked to a scout with the Astros tonight and he said they are really trying to deal Hunter, Wandy an Bourne.

He confirmed the trade that they declined from the Phillies for Pence that included Singletary, Cosart and a third prospect (which he said was a second-tier pitcher)
He also said that Pence was really weird. With all the money he had in the first few years of pro ball and all the girls coming after him he used to just go home and play World of Warcraft instead.
