And yeah, if they have 3-4 pennants it'll be great. Thats a gigantic if.

I don't think the Phillies have a problem with how this shook out. I do think their business model is problematic in that they have very untradable contracts for non-iconic players. At least the Yankees can overpay on the principle of selling Jeter chasing 3,500 hits, A-Rod chasing Bonds and Mo going for 602 saves.
If they start to look old and slow in 2012 or '13, they're toast.

As for the Yankees with Jeter and Mo, they are players that the Yankees should keep until they retire. They have both been in pinstripes for 15 productive seasons. They are the current face of the Yankees and have been for over a decade. The Yankees should keep them as long as they are productive in a role and they(Mo and Jeter) are willing to take lesser roles on the team.
