Delgado did pretty well for them when he got there as well.

Yeah, none of those guys were washed up when he signed them or traded for them....except Alou, but that was a 1 year deal to make the club, not a long term guarantee.

I don't get how Delgado was washed up when he traded for him (or what he did in a Mets uni). Or Castillo with his .375 OBP in his Mets tenure.

Moises Alou had a .916 OPS in 2007, then injuries killed him with a .777 OPS in 2008 (both with the Mets)

The Mets just find ways to suck and get injured in terms of last year.

traded Heath Bell and Brian Bannister away as well. Sure the players had some production, but alot of those guys have been hurt and missed a lot of time not really justifying their contracts.

Mike Jacobs was only starting because Danny Murphy was hurt. Same goes for Gary Matthews Jr.

Lo Duca sucks but they needed a catcher and they gave up nothing for him (Gaby Hernandez, Dante Brinkley).

They traded Ryan Church for Frenchy.

Kazmir was Jim Duquette's doing.
