Only complaint you can make about the Minaya Mets is that they give a year and 20% more per season than a player is worth. They've never made a trade that you just automatically scream at, he learned his lessons in overpayment in Montreal.

They're really mediocre and paid like a world beater, but it's just money to them, no big deal.

Hazel Mae is the worst. I have a hard time watching MLB network because of her. If she and Josh Elliot were ever in the same room together it'd be filled with stammering transitions into cliched colloquialisms.

I like Ma & Pa Yankee (Sterling and Waldman). They're intentionally over the top and they're doing local radio; of course they're going to puff it all up.

The other thing you have to remember, Mae and Elliot get to call highlights. That's not hard. You're giving play by play to things that have already happened. You don't have to have good powers of perception, reaction or anything like that. You know before hand what is going to happen in the events you are going to broadcast. It's inexcusable to filter in a bunch of umms errs aahhs and stuttering as you reach for your mental "thesaurus."
