you said it after im pretty sure literally like the 2nd or 3rd game last year not because you were some expert, but because you are unrelentingly negative about this entire organization.

And you relentlessly are overly critical of anything I say & I have every right to be critical of the organization. They have done NOTHING yet....they built a farm system, but that is still nothing but projection.

The real 1st test comes this off-season. If they ever want to reclaim the fanbase they cannot afford to have a 3rd season next year losing over 95+ games. Adding a Neil Walker & Curtis Granderson won't cut it next year.

I have no problem with being critical, i am critical of the team all the time. My problem is you are consistently uninformed and you are relentlessly negative and often times are grasping at straws for places to be negative. For example, starting a thread about the possibility of the marlins splitting time in montreal based off one ridiculous report of the rays possibly doing so, even though the marlins have a contractual obligation to play here for like 35 years

Contracts are broken all the time...and MLB is rich enough to rescue a franchise that is floundering & move them, even if it's temporarly to another location. Loria owes the county & city money...contractually, did that stop him ?

              • Love how Miami has figured out how to tank!!

#2 Pick is in reach with Baltimore playing KC now and still have games vs Detroit and Toronto

                • Assuming we keep Smith, Lopez, Alcantara, Yamamoto, Hernandez and Urena in some capacity for next season, what other pitchers from the current 40-man roster do you want to see on the list next April? I can give a definite yes to J Garcia and a questionable maybe to Brigham. I guess Steckenrider could bounce back. That's about it.

I think the tanking is happening organically (although the Noesi starts were a pretty obvious tanking strategy). The Anderson injury, while unfortunate, is helping the cause as well.

                    • I am NO Rays fan but will say I love how they draft and hit the IFA market. Good news for us is Yiddi Cappe is pretty much a lock to not sign until 2020 now

The Rays have signed 16-year-old Dominican outfield prospect Jhon Diaz, Jesse Sanchez of MLB.com reports (via Twitter). Diaz had been widely projected to go to the Yankees, and Sanchez even tweeted on July 2 that Diaz and New York had agreed to a $1.2MM signing bonus. It seems, however, that said deal was never officially finalized. (In the case of today’s report, Sanchez tweeted a photo of Diaz signing with his contract with the Rays.)

NYY didn't have the cash to sign him yet so TB jumped in an stole the #7 IFA prospect

Lee will like him next year in AAA. Elieser and Dugger have talent issue is both are likely LR/swiss army types and not SP. SP/LR/RP that can go to AAA if needed

Not really a bad thing especially since we have tons of SP

His line looked a helluva lot better than his stuff, at least to me. He doesn't look like he has much to go with the 91 mph fastball. Brinson, oh my. I remember three or four misplays in CF in the last week or so.

I like Elieser far more than Duggar. We'll see.

The answer is, practically everyone as they have 40 man space so no one needs to be moved. You DFA Chen and Guerrero and that's about it.

I like the idea of Urena as the closer as he is best equipped to deflect arbitration numbers getting saves (as he already is in arbitration). This is purely a financial decision, but considering Urena is not going to be given priority of the younger arms coming for the rotation, maybe he really thrives in the pen? God knows they need good pen innings.

Ideally, I'd like this to open:

Ca. Smith, Pablo, Sandy, "Gerrit Cole or Cheap 1 year Veteran SP innings eater to hopefully trade in July", Yamamoto/Elieser
                              Urena, Stanek, Steckenrider, Brice, Brigham/Elieser
                              Garcia, Conley*, Quijada*

Other 40 man P who will pitch in 2020 - The other of Yamamoto/Elisier/Brigham, Sixto, Neidert, Guzman, Castano, Dugger
Other 40 man P not likely to pitch in 2020 - Holloway, Stewart, Mejia

*I'd like to see more lefties to challenge these two

One such lefty is certainly Alex Vesia (bound for AFL). In last 35 innings of A+ and AA ball, 2 BB, 49 K, and .62 WHIP.
