I legit cant even name names who might fill out the roster because i doubt they bring brinson up before september the way he has hit lately.
Castro, Granderson and Walker ----> Diaz, Dean and Eddie Alvarez?

    Apparently Dean is injured.

        • Jarlin Garcia has sort of become a thing out of the bullpen too.

I still don't trust it. I feel like he's done something similar all three years with the big club, had some kind of incredible run, then eventually gone to shit. Hopefully this year is different.

Greinke career WAR so far (59)

              Mariano Rivera (39)

He is currently 17 on the twins top prospect list on mlb.com. He is just 17 and was the number 3 IFA guy on their list last year. Makes sense for both sides, marlins get a really nice long term potential prospect and the twins get immediate bullpen help for a guy who is 4 years off.
Twins are interested in ALOT of what we have however they are shooting for bigger targets right now. Mets/Toronto guys

                We like Nick Gordon,Rijo,Alcala,Brent Rooker,Lewin Diaz,Larnach(Doubtful) and IFA $

Romo,Kinley,Tayron,Richards,Grandy,Neil Walker have been discussed. Was some talk of Richards/Romo for 2 or 3 prospects and some IFA $ but that has cooled-reality is Miami is likely asking for 1 of Gordon,Rijo,Alcala,Diaz and IFA $

                - - - - - - - - - -

Castro market is quiet. Teams want him but dont want to pay his salary-Miami is willing to pay buyout plus little more but NOT all of it at this point

Castro and some REAL cash for IFA $ OR Castro and alot of REAL Cash for IFA $ and a non prospect(DSL/older guy)

Also looks like we will have to make a decision on Caleb. Offers are starting to come in and heard few are very very solid(NOT what Miami wants yet but they are getting close)

Minnesota,Oakland,TB,Cubs,LAD,LAA,Milwaukee,Boston ,NYY are teams who have been scouting us hard

The issue with Caleb/Richards is teams(Houston/Minnesota/NYY/LAD/others) all are trying to get MadBum/Stroman/Thor/Wheeler/Texas SP(Bigger targets). Miami's thinking is eventually those guys will be off market and 3 or 4 teams will be upping offers because NOT many control options left-4 years of 1 of them OR 1 year of Robbie Ray?

Miami would love TB,Houston,NYY to miss on SP!!!

                • Rojas name has been getting steam but still price is pretty high which has turned most off

                  • Given salary/contract/performance, I would certainly think Caleb Smith would command a far better return than any of the commonly listed trade candidates.

Marlins think same thing-problem is teams havent offered that. They have offered some nice packages but nothing to make Miami go WOW which is why I said they hope TB/NYY/Houston miss out on SP. Houston and NYY they know what they want while TB they have so much it would be a grab bag(Not ML bat but LOTS of future ML players-Yelich/Ozuna like deals)

Toronto asked for Torres,Deivi Garcia and more for Stroman and Giles
Miami wants Frazier and more for Smith and a vet

Toronto asked Houston for Kyle Tucker package for Stroman
                      Miami wants Tucker for Smith

By way Stroman is a FA while Smith has 4 years control(1 of Miami selling points)

I hope Philly and LAD get the big name SP!!!

                      • I repost this May 1 post of my top ten only because MLB Pipeline came out with their revised midseason update. Sure looks a lot like my preseason list!

                        1) Zac Gallen. Instead of imagining what could/might be, why not credit a player for actually evolving? Gallen has put it all together and spins one beautiful start after another. His performance is near the top of all pitching prospects in baseball, so he certainly tops the Marlins list.

                        2) Edward Cabrera The lights have come on for the RH power arm ... meaning the bases on balls have disappeared. Sixto Sanchez enjoys more support in baseball circles, but wait: Aren't we hoping that he may someday put up results like Gallen and Edward already are?

                        3) Jerar Encarnacion. Speaking of the lights turning on ... the 21-year-old has come out of nowhere (the beautiful Dominican Republic, actually) to become the best hitter in the entire Midwest League. Can't criticize anyone for not noticing him earlier because he hadn't shown much of anything, but the 6-4 slugger shines especially bright in comparison to the rest of the Clinton roster. While Jerar is no five-tool player, the Marlins need the hit tool most of all.

                        4) Jose Devers At 19 he's near the top of the Florida State League in BA and OBP. He's fast and wields an excellent glove at SS. And Miami has a vacancy at that position for the foreseeable future.

                        5) Sixto Sanchez He could be ... he might be ... if only he can overcome the arm problems of the past two years.

                        6) Braxton Garrett TJS derailed things for a spell, but here he comes with that curveball.

                        7) Trevor Rogers They say lefties take more time. That's especially true when they are 6-6. But his improvement is obvious.

                        8) Harold Ramirez A very big season at AA last year has carried over as hoped. With teammate Austin Dean, he is delivering for the Baby Cakes.

                        9) Dean The fielding tool remains shaky, but he can really hit. Sneaky quick on the bases too. A former third baseman turned OF, he is now playing some first base.

                        10) Monte Harrison Baby steps for the Baby Cakes. He can run and catch and throw like nobody's business. Will he ever hit major league pitching? The jury remains out.

MLB Pipeline just revised list: Sanchez, Bleday, Diaz, Harrison, Gallen, Cabrera, Garrett, Rogers, Misner, Devers. As I recall, only one of Gallen, Garrett, Cabrera, Rogers was in their original top ten (Garrett I think).

For those keeping score at home (or ridiculing my prognostications or overall personal character), I don't see Bleday or Misner legitimately in the top ten at this time. They'll have to show something first. (Note: CJ Abrams would be on my midseason list in place of Encarnacion most certainly!)
