Am I crazy or could the Marlins turn Ryne Stanek into a really good prospect himself this offseason if he performs well to end the season? He could legitimately be a setup man for a competing playoff team.

Literally think we got the better of the two relievers in the deal.

They needed pitching and got 2 guys on the cheap. Told u the market was nuts-they were in on Caleb Smith but was package type offer

For the first time in years...I can actually say I am excited about the team's future. This could legitimately be a franchise changing day for the team.

Top 3-5 pick in college pitching heavy draft too so Gallen/Richards could be replaced with a Emerson Hancock/JT Ginn/Cole Wilcox if they want

2021 is legitimately the first year the future of the Marlins will probably be in the field. If the draft picks start panning out and the caliber prospects they've acquired perform like there level suggests...oh boy.

Yeah I don't imagine Garrett Cooper is part of the future, everybody else I agree with (Alfaro needs to perform next year though).

The future starting rotation has so many possibilities though. I still think Caleb Smith should be traded for more future pieces...but Sanchez as a hopeful ace, Neidert, Yamamoto, Cabrera, with Lopez and Alcantara at the bottom is a hell of a rotation to bank on. Yes I am in agreement that they need to go sign somebody who can be a #1 or 2 to match with Sanchez if the team has actual championship aspirations in the future.

Cooper might be a good guy to have around for the bench since it looks like we've gone so lefty-heavy. Even guys that will still be waiting in the wings in 2021, Connor Scott and Misner are lefties.
