  • Huge come from behind win last night.

Headed down to the ballpark today. I have very little confidence in Trevor Richards right now (3.94 ERA with a 5.16 xFIP). Maybe he’ll surprise me.

Section 40 Row D tickets only $13. Not bad at all.

You dont spend big money 4 years from now because you have money available now. You give a 1-2 year deal to someone rather than giving them a long term dea for no reason, and then as a smart organization you can do it again when that guy comes up.

The rays needed a starter, they got charlie morton on a 2 year deal rather than sign another big name pitcher to a 4 year deal because they are a healthy organization who knows that they can develop their own starters and dont want to be stuck overpaying someone 4 years from now. They needed a decent OF, they gave Avisail Garcia 1year, 3.5 million. The a's do it all the time as well. Because those are smart teams who know how to build a sustainable team and healthy organization and have consistent payroll flexibility.
AGREED AGREED-they should build like Houston/SD/TB. I am just saying what the "PLAN" is

My only game thus far was ATL vs Marlins on June 8. Richards was fantastic in a 1-0 loss.

The energy at the ballpark yesterday was amazing. Real fans are starting to show up and actually cheer.
$13 is not bad. If you guys are interested in going to more games next year I would recommend looking into the 10 game plan or 20 game plan. I paid $9 bucks for each ticket and you get a lot of benefits. Shagging balls in the outfield, 8 extra tickets, priority to come in into the ballpark, guaranteed giveaways till the 1st inning, events and etc.

trade him! With Rogers, Garrett, Smith, Sanchez, Lopez, Cabrera and Gallen in the 2020-21 rotation, there's no place for Sandy.

              • I mean it's a bit of a joke given Alcantara has a WAR of like 1. Definitely a moment where the league realized they had to pick one guy from the Marlins, looked at Alcantara's ERA and said "well it isn't embarrassing so he'll do".

                • Not so sure Caleb Smith is trying very hard tonight, but AA hitters have smacked him around for the first few innings.

Ya I didn’t get him over a number of other guys on the roster but so many of the guys having actual good years for us have been injured for a period of time so that’s probably why. I figured smith would get the nod but it’s an all star game so it doesn’t really matter but good for sandy. I didn’t know much about his story and he did a podcast with mish the other day and he came off as a really really good dude

Right, there are so many non-injured guys on our roster whose first half stats just scream All Star selection.

I literally said that there would be if not for injuries, which is accurate for smith and cooper and Pablo Lopez. Way to make another pointless post though saying absolutely nothing of substance, which might as well be called the namaste at this point. Did you think you were making a good point by purposely cutting off the rest of my post where I go on to say that it is because the guys most deserving have been injured for a long stretch this year or are currently injured?

Also, nowhere in my post did i say anything about "screaming all star selection." Try to stay with my cause i know you cant possibly comprehend a post more than a sentence or two, but there is a difference between saying we have guys more deserving than alcantara and saying we have a bunch of guys who scream all star selection. If you've gotten to this point in my post, thank you so much for reading, i know it's difficult for you to read posts of substance that are more than a sentence long.

Does arguing relentlessly about the Marlins signing a shortstop signed to the Rangers for 3 more years fall under pointless or lacking substance?

Gotcha. There has been some development in the general area of Marlins park over the last few years, but nothing directly adjacent to it. Everything has been several blocks away at best. It'd be great if they could further develop the area around the park, but that said, I don't see public housing being the improvement the park/Marlins need (though could be for the city/county).
