  • Prado's actually been good to start the season. I think if he stays healthy (which is a huge if) I think he could back to his regular .750 OPS self.

Yup, especially with Neidert and Gallen probably being close to ready at that point and needing to be evaluated. Id go after either a ML hitter or try to build some more hitting depth in the organization and take a flier on 2 lower level hitters. Either way i'd like to see them start emphasizing hitting like they have with SP the last 2 years.

Ya, i wouldnt mind seeing him get more playing time. At least with him youre gonna get a good AB and he's not useless up there like Herrera, Wallach, O'brien has been, etc.

      We should be doing this:

      C- Alfaro
      1b- Walker/Prado
      2b- Castro
      SS- Rojas/Riddle pure platoon
      3b- Anderson/Prado
LF-Granderson full time. He hasnt been terrible against lefties in the last 3 years with a .688 OPS.
      CF- Brinson
      RF- Anderson/O'Brien

Theoretically all of them could at least put up a .700 OPS except O'Brien who goes down when hopefully cooper comes back

      • If we know Cooper isn't coming back by May right now, and O'Brien continues to struggle this weekend I'd pull the trigger and go to Dean. I like Dean, (not as much as Lee does, mind you) I think he's got more of a major league future than O'Brien and Cooper, and he's at the point where I think being in AAA isn't going to help his development much.

I agree we have a lot of the pitching sorted out.....we need to make sure they get the hitting up to par while the window is open. It can close fast

Prado has really surprised me. He's really good when he targets RF instead of trying to pull the ball. Has anyone noticed how much more comfortable Wallach looks at the plate? I was actually disappointed when Alfaro pinch hit for him late.

Hey we agree on something! Glad you've come around a little bit on the pitching. I like the quality, the depth in the system, and the fact that they seem to be in a few different windows to get to the majors so we could evaluate them all at some point over the next few years.

They really did well on the phelps, dee, and ozuna trade I think.

I would like to know if the front office was caught off guard by how ML ready the rotation appears and whether they would have approached last offseason differently if they knew that was going to happen.

              • The FO does well when they deal with Seattle, I'll give them that.

I think that's a really good question....because we might be losing one year unfortunately

I dont think they are gonna be developed enough this year to compete no matter who they got but I do think its an interesting question if they would have gone after a guy like machado or maybe a lesser bat a little harder.

                          • Is there still no way this team loses 100 games?

We're losing again tonight in Atlanta, but hopefully everyone is having a good experience.

Yes I think there is no way they DON'T lose 100, and it's a "Hit" party, we got 1 !! Whoop Whoop !

Seriously, why would anyone pay to watch this ? I mean I feel my wallet thinner and I'm just watching on TV.

Oh wow. Anderson just got a hit.....let's get the party going !!!

Of course that Anderson hit came to nothing

                              • Zac Gallen is dealing against a pretty good Round Rock lineup, so we've got that going for us at least.
