That’s a silly way to look at .BABIP.

1. The .200 number is the result of not a lot of hard contact.
2. This doesn’t take into account the complete lack of power so far.

His defense has been good though.

If you only look as far back as the last 8-9 days of Brinson’s AB’s, yes, he has been terrible at hard contact. But that wasn’t the case in Spring Training nor was it the first 7-10 days of the regular season. He stung a ton of balls that resulted in outs. Those AB’s have made his stats look awful.

Also, HE SHOULDN’T EVEN BE IN THE MAJORS BUT THE NEW OWNERSHIP IS FACEPALM WORTHY.

I still strongly believe that Brinson will be a consistent 3-5 WAR player for years to come (he is an elite defender).
