It absolutely does matter. The technology to get it right is there. He has gotten the benefit of the doubt on countless calls that either ended or could have extended at bats. In small samples, something as simple as making him throw more pitchers and getting him out of the game an inning earlier makes an enormous impact. It’s a fucking disgrace we’re still dealing with this shit. And there are 0 consequences for any ump who is terrible. There is nothing they can do to lose their job. It’s ridiculous

You're frustrated and I don't think anyone serious about baseball that isn't an umpire disagrees they need to move to automated balls and strikes next season. Big picture, Wheeler is completely dominating them regardless of the umpire.
